TEAMS:
Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones likes to believe the public expects the unexpected when it comes to his player transactions, but that’s simply not the case. Last off-season, Jones tried hard to make the football world believe he was interested in drafting Cam Newton, who also participated in the public façade. As the 2012 NFL Draft draws near, Jones and his son, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, are being a little more honest about the team’s interest in drafting a quarterback in the first round.

Cowboys need Garrett to fill leadership void
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher has never been known for making headlines off the field, but he caused a bit of a stir last Friday when he couldn't answer a simple question. A local radio personality asked Hatcher to name the leaders on this Cowboys roster.

Cowboys moving Tyron Smith to left tackle
According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to move Tyron Smith to left tackle and Doug Free over to the right tackle for the 2012 season.
Free did a pretty good job this past season on the left side, but when a team drafts a guy like Smith ninth overall, he should be good enough to play left tackle.

If the best player available at No. 14 is a tackle, should the Cowboys draft him, even though they got Tyron Smith last year. After signing that big contract, Doug Free seemed to take a step backward.
Competing Franchises
Anthony Spencer could get the franchise tag. That's been established. But what about franchise candidates across the league at positions that might interest the Cowboys in free agency? Let's examine.
