New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft decided to clear the air about an incident that took place in 2005 between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kraft spoke to crowd at Carnegie Hall’s Medal of Excellence gala at the Waldorf-Astoria, and informed them that Putin stole is 2005 Super Bowl ring, priced at nearly $25,000. Super Bowl 39 was the 3rd of Super Bowl in 4 years for the Pat. Per the NY Post: Kraft explained the incident happened while Sandy Weill and other business execs were in St. Petersburg. “I took out the ring and showed it to [Putin], and he put it on and he goes, ‘I can kill someone with this ring,’ ” Kraft told the crowd. “I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out.” Kraft wanted the ring back, but issued a statement at the time saying that he decided to give it to the former Cold War KGB agent. “President Putin, a great and knowledgable sports fan, was clearly taken with its uniqueness.
