I think he is entitled to his opinion. Having briefly met him on a couple of occassions, I find him to be a very nice person. I am actually amazed at what an open and friendly guy he is. In the public eye, there are always ramifications to stating personal opinions. It's his decision to take that risk or not. Again, though, he by no means strikes me as a viscious person.
Roddy White sent an insincere apology note on Twitter Thursday after causing a stir with some anti-gay tweets earlier in the day. The Falcons receiver was responding to a fan’s question over Twitter when he made his anti-gay remark.
White was asked “You would rather lead the league in stats than win a Super Bowl?” and responded “Would u rather be gay or straight come on u know that answer?”
The anti-gay response from White was unprompted. It seemed like he began hearing criticism immediately because he sent a few follow-up comments to defend himself.
“Freedom of speech. I don’t care how much money I make. I should be held to my own standards and not the standards of other opinion. #period” he wrote. “Every time somebody says the word gay u want to get your panties in a bunch relax #whyusoemotional.”
Later on Thursday, White felt pressured enough to send this pathetic apology note, which was then negated by more anti-gay comments less than 30 minutes later. See the tweets below:

Are the Falcons Interesting Enough for Hard Knocks?
Earlier today, AJC beat writer D Orlando Ledbetter told us that the Falcons have emerged as the leader to be featured on the HBO series "Hard Knocks". He later updated that to say that the Falcons have an offer and are considering doing the show. Matt has already touched a bit on this on the blog but I thought I would add a little to the conversation. I've never seen...
HBO Is Offering ‘Hard Knocks’ To The Falcons
I have confidence that NFL Films can make the “Hard Knocks” series watchable with any of 32 NFL teams, but picking the Falcons, a team that regularly makes the playoffs, loses their first game and still manages to be completely non-descript and boring, isn’t doing themselves any favors. It’s okay, though, Peter King said he knows his fave Belichick disciple GM, Tom Dimitroff...

The Falcons may be headed for a television channel too expensive for your average blogger, potentially showing up on HBO's Hard Knocks. If you have not seen the show, you should remedy that situation immediately. Not only is it very well done, but it has given the world sweet gems like this:
More after the jump, where we may or may not get a goddamn snack.

The Falcons Success (or lack of) Could Be All About Timing
The Falcons are hoping the timing of the Nolan and Koetter hires pay off
We've all heard the great argument in the NFL, and other sports..."It's all about winning". Balderdash! Colin Cowherd of ESPN argued that it's nowhere near all about winning when it comes to your players, and who is on your team. His contention is that "it's all about...

Everyone wanted to see the New York Jets featured once again this year on Hard Knocks. Apparently, HBO has different plans.
