According to Steve Wyche of the NFL Network, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell hasn’t scheduled a meeting with Saints head coach Sean Payton yet to discuss his reinstatement. Goodell said he does anticipate there will be a conversation in the near future but no date has been set. Payton, who was suspended for the season by Goodell for his role in the Saints bounty scandal, is eligible to be re-instated after the Feb. 3 Super Bowl, in New Orleans. An NFL official added that the five-year contract extension Payton recently signed with the Saints has not yet been reviewed by the league for approval.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; scrip...

However, Payton’s absence wasn’t the only reason for the decline. Drew Brees’ numbers were still great without Payton, not as good as they were in 2011, but it’s unrealistic to expect him to produce like that every...
