IRVING -- Whether it's a near flawless November record or a 7-10 mark during December, Tony Romo doesn't seem to be encouraged or deflated by his win-loss percentage during those two months of the season.
Following practice Thursday, the Cowboys quarterback may have described it best when he said, "I think it just happens that way sometimes. Weird stats come about."
After going 4-0 in November this season, Romo improved his career record to 19-2 during the month. However, his December winning percentage doesn't exactly endorse thoughts of the Cowboys locking up the division.
"The problem with December sometimes is I don't know how many times you're out of the playoffs, in the playoffs," Romo said. "That stuff plays a role. Sometimes you're sitting starters. Sometimes you don't. Sometimes you've got Philly, Baltimore and the Giants to finish the year.
"You need to make it over 15 years is what you need to do, not four or five years. It's just silly. Any stat you can make over a short period of time. That's four games. Stats are just stuff, in that regard, they come and go with whatever's in vogue recently."
But Romo doesn't believe stats are useless for all sports. Baseball stats are a more accurate barometer, according to the Cowboys quarterback.
"I still think baseball stats are great because they give you so much time and so many games to reflect so it's a great understanding over a super long period of time," he said. "Football is just one game. There's 16 games a year. Most guys have played more games in a baseball season than guys in football careers."

Tony Romo is on a tremendous roll right now, playing some of the best football of his career over the last few weeks. Something about the title just didn’t feel right even as I typed it. Tony Romo and clutch don’t seem to belong in the same sentence, especially after his costly interceptions have cost the Cowboys two games this season and it could be argued that his coach’s lack of faith in him cost the team a third. However, as the football world has turned its focus to Tim Tebow, Tony...
