Cornerback Ron Brooks may be spending some time watching Buffalo Bills games from the sidelines.
On Thursday, Brooks, a fourth-round pick, underwent foot surgery. According to head coach Chan Gailey, Brooks will be out indefinitely.
“He had surgery and they said it went extremely well and we’ll see where this takes us from here,” Gailey told buffalobills.com.
Brooks was injured during a recent practice when a teammate stepped on him. He was unable to make the trip with the team to Detroit for a preseason game.
Gailey told buffalobills.com that Brooks could be a candidate for the injured reserve exception. This means a player may be placed on injured reserve and then recalled once he is healthy. The team has until Tuesday to decide if Brooks will be tabbed with the exception.
Brooks’ injury may be a disappointment to Buffalo Bills’ fans. The player was solid in training camp and was regularly breaking up pass plays. He had one interception in three games.
The team’s other cornerbacks include Terrence McGee, Justin Rogers, Leodis McKelvin and Aaron Williams.

At quarterback, starter Ryan Fitzpatrick was obviously a lock, as was backup Tarvaris Jackson, who they just traded for. Jackson’s 2012 salary became guaranteed when they asked him to take a paycut, so they weren’t cutting him less than a week after trading for him. Brad Smith, their wildcat quarterback, who also plays wide receiver and special teams, was safe as...
The Bills just signed two more players to the practice squad, let’s take a look.
TJ Heath is a 2nd year corner out of Jacksonville State who played in 5 games for the Jaguars last year, recording 2 special teams tackles. He was signed by Cincinnati at the beginning of August, before being cut last week. Kind of like the Jags version of Namaan Roosevelt, only not nearly as productive...
Despite speculation that he might be cut, Buffalo Bills QB Tyler Thigpen remains on the team’s roster and has agreed to a pay cut for the 2012 season. Thigpen had been embroiled in a battle with Vince Young for the backup quarterback position with the Bills this offseason. Young was released by Buffalo but the team quickly acquired veteran Tarvaris Jackson from the Seattle Seahawks...

Even while battling injuries, cornerback Terrance McGee’s job with the Buffalo Bills is safe, at least for now.
McGee, who is recovering from patella tendon surgery, was amongst the players not cut Friday. He has had some tough competition at this year’s camp. 2012 first-round pick Stephon Gilmore has had a strong showing so far, and 2011 selection Aaron William is looking...

Cuts have been made, the roster is (almost) set, and Bills Jets week here. How do I know? The Jets are doing what they do best, which is running their mouths and trying to belittle the fact that Steve Johnson thinks Revis Island is a joke.
Specifically, New York Daily News reporter Manish Mehta went around asking everyone what they think of the concept that Steve Johnson “owns”...
With the NFL season set to get underway in one short week for every team not named New York Giants or Dallas Cowboys, there has been an air of excitement surrounding the up and coming Buffalo Bills. For the first time in a very long time, the Bills faithful have legit reasons to believe their team can make a push for the playoffs.

While the New York Jets offense did not run a single snap of the Wild Cat formation during the pre-season, most think they will run the formation throughout the season with Tim Tebow as their quarter back. With the start of the NFL season...

All 32 teams in the National Football League are finally down to a 53 man roster after a summer of grueling training camp and preseason battles. The Bills, as always, made some questionable (and unquestionable) decisions as to who would make the final roster. Without further ado, let’s break down each player that was released today, and why....
