San Diego Chargers wide receiver Eddie Royal left Saturday’s practice in an ambulance. Royal suffered an apparent back injury after landing on it while making a catch. Royal did get up after landing on his back and walked around a while before receiving oxygen from the Chargers staff. San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy told news reporters that Royal was taken to the hospital as a precaution. “He had shortness of breath, and I’ll leave it at that,” McCoy said. Royal had to wait for the ambulance to arrive. There is supposed to be one there during practices. The Charges have had several wide receivers injured this preseason.
