I’m going to try the impossible here and give you a strength of schedule for running backs this season. I agree that these are perilous because the only true stats we have are from last season and much of last season is useless. This is a little less true in run defense though. Not enough to make me use these SOS ranks as anything more than a tie breaker, but I still feel better with them than I do the Quarterback SOS.
Below here we have how each team’s rush defense ranked in eight categories and then I average those ranks to come up with an overall ranking that I then place down in the schedule below here. I would like to quantify the off season changes in personnel, etc, into these rankings, but I feel like that could just compound the problem. I will be using the Football Outsiders projections for this season to update these when they come out. If it looks like a big change I’ll repost.
I will also do similar SOS schedules as we gather data from the 2013 season.
