The Dallas Cowboys Running game has been below average over the past three season. Last year Felix Jones gained a lot of weight to become more durable. The problem is he also lost his explosiveness and that is why the Cowboys drafted him in the first round.  The reason why most people believed the Cowboys a threat to win the NFC East last year is Demarco Murray. The first game he stared, Murray rushed 25 times for 253 yards. Now that game was vs. the Rams but still very scary numbers for a rookie. The next week he rushed the ball only 8 times and the Cowboys got blown out. Jason Garret learned that if the Cowboys were going to win football games Murray need more touches. The next four games Murray had over 20 carries and the Cowboys won every game. Arizona was a very different story. With only 12 carries the Cowboys lost in overtime and Jason learned again that he must give the ball to Murray if they wanted to win. Murray got hurt vs. the Giants but already had 5 carries for 15 ya...

Is Jason Garrett the right coach to lead the Dallas Cowboys?

Dallas Cowboys’ head coach Jason Garrett kind of reminds me a little bit of Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. Both are young first-time head coaches who have been entrusted with championship-caliber teams while still in their coaching infancy. Spoelstra didn’t have all of the talent he now has at his disposal when he first took over as coach of the Heat but he did produce two...

Witten says Romo is an elite quarterback

Since 2006, there's probably no player on the Dallas Cowboys roster that has been asked about Tony Romo more than tight end Jason Witten. The two are good friends and two of the franchise's most valuable players. Witten, who has made the Pro Bowl seven times, was asked about Romo on Monday for a story in the Abilene Reporter-News. As usual, Witten praised Romo after mentioning...

Connor competing with Carter for starting spot

The free agency process didn't last long for inside linebacker Dan Connor, and a current Dallas Cowboys linebacker played a significant role. Jason Witten: Tony Romo is “an elite quarterback”

Getty Images Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten sat down with AbileneSports.com and was asked about the disappointing end to last year’s  8-8 season. “No doubt it was a disappointment — going 8-8,” Witten said. “We had a chance to win the division and lost it. The Giants won and went to the Super Bowl. We don’t need any extra motivation.” Witten stands by Romo...
