We all know that Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are having a spectacular start to their careers and in a season that has had controversy over replacement referees in the first three weeks of the regular season and dark moments such as the murder-suicide of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher these two top rookies have been a shining light on the 2012 NFL season. This has been the year of the rookie quarterback and these two men have both had great winning drives and awesome rookie stats that have been both amazing highlight reels for Sportscenter and brought their franchises from rebuilding to resurgence. They definitely deserve the attention as well as grab the headlines, but what about Russell Wilson? Now anyone who has seen his game-winning drive in overtime against the Chicago Bears or watched the highlights knows that Seattle Seahawks have a chance at the playoffs as long as he leads them in the offense. But Wilson is a great story that has been overlooked and deserves attention. Now in the NFC West, the 49ers are the best team in the division and one of the top contenders for a ticket to the Super Bowl in New Orleans. The only other team team that has gotten the most attention other than the Niners are the St. Louis Rams either tying them in the first game or beating them in overtime just before there was another tie. However, Wilson has a lot of potential to make a lot of noise in the NFC.Like RG3, Wilson has been able to use his legs to elude charging linebackers. Like Luck, he has a amazing throwing arm to make deep passes like the one that helped the Seahawks edge the Patriots in Seattle. He has Pete Carroll to give him good play calls and Golden Tate as his top receiver. But they have to beat the 49ers before they can be taken seriously as title contenders. It could come in three weeks in Seattle on the 23rd or it could come in the playoffs. The other thing they have to is what they did in Chicago last week and that is win on the road. Seattle is tough to beat at home but they can be a bit inconsistent on the road. However, as long as Wilson is the man in the offense they have a shot to be as good as anyone else in the NFC. Now Russell Wilson isn't all over the TV with commercials the way RG3 has been for over a year since the draft, he's been on one major commercial (that's for Levis jeans), and he isn't as vocal as Andrew Luck but he does have the skills and the drive to be the NFL's scene-stealing rookie quarterback.
