Russell Wilson knows the power of having a choice as a quarterback and the read option does exactly that, provide options.
Baltimore Ravens signal caller Joe Flacco said that it will fade away, that the pocket passer is the standard for consistently winning.
Wilson thinks otherwise, he feels when incorporated correctly it can be an integral part of a pro offense.
“I definitely think it’s here to stay,” Wilson spoke to WSCR in Chicago with McNeil and Spiegel. “In terms of the read option, it’s just a changeup for us. We may run 15, maybe 20 percent, of our runs are the read-options plays.”
“Yeah, it’s tough to stop,” he said. “I think the thing with us, and why it works so efficient for us, is we love throwing the ball out of the formation.
We do a lot of things, a lot of play action, a lot of different looks.”
