Remember when your older brother used to pick on you and beat you in just about everything? Then you would say “just wait til I get older”? That has been the relationship between the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots for the last decade. But guess what Boston fans, little brother has gotten a little older.

The Bills are facing their highest expectations in years, and are looking to make the postseason for the first time in 13 years. But it all lies on the right shoulder of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. As they should be, the expectations for Fitz are justified. Among working with a solid receiving corps, a solid two back tandem, an offensive line that allowed a league low 23 sacks in 2011, and an offensive genius in Chan Gailey it should be all smiles for the former Crimson.

For Fitzpatrick, he believes he can handle the pressure that has been laid upon him. He told the Democrat and Chronicle.

If I didn’t love it, I don’t think I would play the position of quarterback

The Bills coaching staff would “love” nothing more than to see Fitzpatrick excel at the highest level this season. But Fitzpatrick should be a little cautious. Buffalo invested six years and 59 million into a guy who fizzled down the stretch despite the broken ribs. This also is a team that is stacked around him on both offense and defense. We all know in this league the motto is “what have you done for me lately?”. If he cannot perform, they will find someone else who will can. So for Fitzpatrick’s sake, today marks the day of “lately”.

Terrence McGee Worried About Getting Cut

Sal Maiorana published an article yesterday that confirms something we’ve suspected for a while now: that Terrence McGee may be on the outside looking for a roster spot on the Buffalo Bills. It may seem strange that in a cornerback group dominated by rookies and NFL sophomores, the player with the most extensive experience and resume of solid play could be the odd man out. However...

Buffalo Bills: 4 Projected Camp Casualties

Bills training camp is now in its second week and there have been some heartening sights for fans hoping that Buffalo is as good as the hype machine has them on paper. Buffalo Bills Training Camp: Eric Wood Should Take It Slow

QB Breakdown: Ryan Fitzpatrick

2012 NFL Preview: AFC Training Camp Battles

Hard to believe, but with training camps having begun and August already here, the 2012 NFL season is mercifully at our doorstep. That means fewer ‘Stephen Strasburg is going to get shut down’ stories and more ‘HOLY CRAP, TIM TEBOW IS SHIRTLESS IN THE RAIN!!!’ stories. Thank. God.   Even better, the 2012 NFL pre-season arrives with no lockout-related...

The transcendent words of Buddy Nix

Follow Aaron on Twitter When the Bills announced their new general manager with three games remaining in the 2009 season, I was left scratching my head. Not because I thought it was a bad move, but merely because I had no idea who Buddy Nix was. I consider myself to be a sports aficionado, and can designate countless sports personalities to their professions. But, for some reason...
