How well will the Miami Dolphins do this season? It's one simple question, but there are so many possibilities. So many different things could go right or wrong for the Dolphins. It's impossible to know what will really happen. The truth, though, is the above question isn't even the right question to ask. The real question is actually also the answer to the question above (am I making sense here?). The real question is this: How well will Ryan Tannehill perform this season? That's the real question, because how well he does will dictate how well Miami does. A quarterback is so crucially important that even if you surround a poor one with a top-shelf group of players you will still struggle to be successful. Miami has brought in loads of talent on both sides of the ball, but if Ryan Tannehill isn't able to hold up his end of the bargain then none of it will matter. Please, Ryan, save me It's almost unfair to put that much pressure on a se...

Tyson Clabo Expects Miami Dolphins To ‘Make Some Noise’

The Miami Dolphins have signed nine-year veteran offensive tackle Tyson Clabo, along with undrafted rookie free agent linebacker David Hinds after the team concluded rookie mini-camp Sunday. After hitting the open market, Clabo says he had interest in taking his talents down to South Beach. “When I was released and became a free agent, one of the first things that we (Clabo...

Effects of Tyson Clabo’s signing on the Dolphins offensive line

The Miami Dolphins took a big step over the weekend, locking up one of the best right tackles in the NFL.  After working out a number of tackles last week, the Dolphins ultimately decided that Tyson Clabo was their best option.   And outside of a reasonable trade with the Chiefs for Branden Albert, I have to agree with them.  Clabo was the best option at right tackle for the...

Rookie Camp: Newcomers Shine On Day 1

It’s that time of the year again! The Miami Dolphins landed a ton of shiny new toys last week, and all of them were extremely anxious to take the field and play. Rookie camp began on Friday, and while you can’t base judgments on performances in shorts – it can still give the coaching staff an idea as to what they have to work with. Here is an update on some of the happenings...

Hypocritical NFL should be blamed if Dolphins do not host Super Bowl

The Miami Dolphins have been working through the political process, in hopes of securing public tax dollars to help renovate Sun Life Stadium.  We won’t bore you with the logistics of the operation, just know that the tax dollars would have been paid by tourists (in way of a hotel tax) and the Dolphins would have repaid what is essentially a loan, over a 30 year time period.  The...

Dolphins need to figure out which position Dion Jordan will play

Now that the Miami Dolphins drafted former Oregon linebacker Dion Jordan with the third overall pick in this year’s draft, they still need to figure out what position will fit him the best. He can either play linebacker, defensive end, or both. The Jordan question: Jordan can attend this weekend’s practices but not future ones in May or June because his class at Oregon hasn...

The Miami Dolphins have found their right tackle for this season. Offensive tackle Tyson Clabo will be signing with Miami today, according to his agent Chad Speck. Miami Dolphins’ Bill for Sun Life Stadium Renovations Rejected by Lawmakers

After being fleeced last time it was asked, Miami has said no to publicly financing improvements to Sun Life Stadium for the Dolphins. On Friday, Miami lawmakers ended a 60-day legislative session without coming to an agreement over funding renovations to the stadium, reports The Miami Herald. The move could put future Super Bowls at the Dolphins’ Sun Life Stadium in doubt. Dolphins...

Stephen Ross: speaker 'put politics before the people'

One of the advantages of writing about sports is that I rarely have to write about the state of national or local politics. It's an area that is largely out of the way, but occasionally, the topic rears its head, most commonly in stadium situations. When the Florida legislature failed to give citizens of the Miami area the opportunity to vote on a hotel tax to fund improvements...
