Saints adding depth to Safety position?

The Saints signing Pierson Prioleau was more of a move to add depth then to bring in position competition. Usually in moves like this, these guys rarely make it through camp with out being cut. But when adding depth there should be some kind of skill involved. Prioleau played for Jacksonville last season...go figure, and in his 10 year career has 1 interception and 296 tackles. He has only been a full time starter in one season and that was in buffalo in 2002. So theyre adding depth? Then why did they cut Kaesvaharn who's always been a starter. When adding depth you dont sign one and then release one, then you're the same and maybe just a little bit more under the salary cap. Probably the actual purpose but that was what they said, they said to "add depth" Hell, pay me $100,000 and I'll add depth. My 3 year old son wants to add depth at center too. The Saints are also in the process of re-signing Joey Harrington. They should have kept Tyler Palko in my opinion, but whatever...
