Saints excuse Brees to handle family issue

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been excused from training camp for an undisclosed family matter. Saints head coach Sean Payton declined to give any more details on Saturday and said he was unsure when the quarterback would return to the club. Mark Brunell served as starting quarterback during the scrimmage. He connected with Marques Colston several times, including a 22-yard completion and a short touchdown.
