Zach Strief, whom the Saints tendered at a second-round level earlier this off-season, signed the 1.75M dollar offer today to remain with the team for the 2010-2011 season.

Strief has spent his entire career with the Saints after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2006 draft out of Northwestern and has become a valuable backup seeing action at a variety of positions.

At 6-7 and 320 pounds Strief has played the center and both tackle positions at varied times on the Saints offensive line and even played as a blocking tight end at the tail end of the season last year and during the Saints play-off run and eventual Super Bowl championship.

Strief founded his own charity in 2006 the “Zach Strief Dream Big Foundation” that is dedicated to enriching the lives of less fortunate children including those in the surrounding parishes of New Orleans.
