Saints safety Roman Harper was full in practice Thursday after a rib injury limited him the previous day. But the roster is close to full health with only two players held out of the workout. Tackle Charles Brown (right knee) continues to be out after from the injury suffered against the 49ers. Rookie cornerback Corey White (left knee) missed practice after not appearing on Wednesday injury report. Defensive end Martez Wilson, who missed Wednesday with a toe injury, and cornerback Johnny Patrick, who sat yesterday due to illness, were back to full participation along with the rest of the roster. According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson plans on suing the NFL for millions of dollars if head coach Sean Payton is allowed to leave and sign with the Cowboys. Very good source tells me that Saints owner Tom Benson would sue league for millions if Sean Payton allowed to leave for Dallas or elsewhere — Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) December 7, 2012 Payton...

Saints Nation: Evaluating Pete Carmichael Jr. as a Play Caller

Pete Carmichael Jr. took over for Sean Payton this season as the offensive play caller and while the players on the field are carrying out the plays, I wanted to look out how this offense has compared in 2012 to all the other seasons when Sean Payton was either calling all the plays or at least overseeing the team. Some observations: The Saints are averaging 26.8 points...

Brees aside, Giants prepare for Saints RBs, too

There's more to the New Orleans Saints offense than Drew Brees these days, and the New York Giants know it. While ranked 27th in the league in rushing, the Saints have a four-headed run attack that has averaged nearly 120 yards in the last five games. What makes the Saints' running game interesting is that Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles, Chris Ivory and Mark Ingram all have...

The Giants Suspect Sean Payton Is Violating His Gag Order

As a result of the Bountygate scandal involving the New Orleans Saints’ pay-for-hits program, head coach Sean Payton was barred from the NFL for the 2013 season. One very important stipulation of the suspension states that Payton is “prohibited from direct or indirect communication of any sort with employees of the 32 clubs, including through third parties; and such prohibited...

New York Giants defense takes aim at Drew Brees and the Saints

The New York Giants are mad. After their Monday night loss to the Redskins, those that are students of the game knew that they would be. Atypically for them at this stage of the season that means that they next team up on their roster has to pay a large tax for the events of the game prior.  Please Click Here To Read This Story

Giants P Steve Weatherford doesn’t believe Sean Payton has no contact with Saints

strong>Sean Payton is prohibited from having any contact of any kind with the New Orleans Saints this season. By definition, he is “prohibited from direct or indirect communication of any sort with employees of the 32 clubs, including through third parties; and such prohibited communications shall include, but are not limited to, phone or electronic contact.” While we’re...

Saints Nation: 5 Things to Look For in Saints @ Giants

The Saints will travel to New York to face the Giants on Sunday it what will pin the defending world champions against the 2009 champs. This was supposed to be an amazing late season matchup on paper when the season started, but instead the Saints are 5-7 and the Giants are 7-5, both clinging to playoff hopes. The Saints will likely have to win out, while the Giants can't really...

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants: Week 14 NFL Pick

New Orleans Saints (5-7) at New York Giants (7-5) Earlier this week, I outlined why the Redskins should be considered the favorites to win the NFC East. The Redskins, presumably, have the tiebreaker, by virtue of their better divisional record. They are a game back right now, but they are almost definitely going favored in each of their last four games, while the Giants will be favored...

Can the Giants beat Drew Brees and the Saints this coming Sunday?

Once again, the New York Giants are in the same place as always as they are at this point of the regualr season. They are one game up on the Redskins and Cowboys in the NFC East division and they have to beat the Saints in order to stay where they are. And beating Drew Brees is never an easy thing to do. The history of the Giants facing Drew Brees hasn't been ever that good...
