Andrew Juge of The Saints Nation stops by and he and Ralph declare this podcast bounty free. They get the federally mandated 'Drew Brees Contract' segment over quickly then discuss actual football. Ralph thinks the defensive line is the key to the defense. Andrew agrees and says if Ralph's scenario for Akiem Hicks comes true the Saints will be the home team next February in the Super Bowl. Andrew reviews his interview with Johnny Patrick and thinks Patrick will be a solid #3 corner. Ralph explains why Jimmy Graham is the second most valuable Saint. Andrew agrees but then destroys Ralph's theory of Jimmy Graham not having as good a 2012 as he did 2011.  Then the boys discuss their favorite bands and explain why being able to play the guitar is guaranteed to get a teenage boy laid.

Report: Drew Brees may decide to play under the franchise tag this season

Getty Images Earlier today we mentioned that Saints quarterback Drew Brees should get a new contract within the next week.  Now it looks like things could change. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, there’s been some chatter around the league that Brees will end up playing the 2012 season under the franchise tag, since it would pay him $16 million this season. If...

Saints Not Worried About Drew Brees

The Saints are confident they will reach a new deal with quarterback Drew Brees prior to Monday's deadline, according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Fantasy Spin: This news comes after Brees, the Saints designated franchise player, said he would not attend training camp without a new contract. And both sides were said to be close, regarding negotiations....

Could Drew Brees be on the move?

Let’s engage in a bit of a hypothetical game here, just because it will be fun and let’s face it, there’s not much else going on right now. We can either do that or break down who has been arrested for what during their vacation and that is usually quite boring (unless some lineman got caught fondling a goat in which case you know TSHQ will be all over that). So my hypothetical...
SAINT GOES MARCHING IN

Saints and Drew Brees are close to a deal

The New Orleans Saints may be near a happy ending to a most unhappy offseason. Matt Triplett reports on NOLA.com that Drew Brees' deal with the New Orleans Saints should be done within a week. Good. It was unthinkable that Brees would play anywhere else this season and unseemly that the two sides played hardball. Football is a world of men and the business side of pro-football...

Report: Drew Brees training camp holdout becoming likely

There were reports earlier in the week that Drew Brees will not miss the a regular season game, but now there is a report that Brees will indeed holdout until he gets the deal that he wants. Brees has until next Monday at 4pm to convince the Saints to give him a multi-year deal, or [...]

Saints Nation's Interview of Saints' CB Johnny Patrick

Johnny Patrick was a 3 round pick out of Lousiville last year but never really got a chance to showcase his stuff last season after he injured his knee in preseason. That didn't stop the Saints from allowing Tracy Porter to walk this offseason and thrusting Johnny Patrick into the 3rd corner slot behind starters Jabari Greer and Patrick Robinson. Patrick is a guy the Saints think...

The New Orleans Saints Should Just Pay Drew Brees

Since becoming a member of the New Orleans Saints in 2006, Drew Brees has been the team’s best player. He is arguably the franchise’s best player ever. He is a class act on and off the field and has helped turn the city of New Orleans around since the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. There [...]

Brees signs his $100 million deal

Drew Brees took some time out of his Sunday to sign autographs on items ranging from a black jersey handed to him by a fan to a $100 million contract handed to him by the New Orleans Saints. The star quarterback, who had agreed verbally to his historic deal Friday, visited team headquarters to take a physical and put pen to paper on the five-year contract that gives him the highest...
