After receiving extended playing time for the first time in his career last season, when he started 13 games, Saints DT Remi Ayodele told PFW he plans on re-earning the starting nose tackle job in 2010. "I'm going (into next season) and trying to win a starting position," Ayodele said. "I'm always going to go into it that way. I'm not going into it like 'Oh, I'm the starter.' No. I'm going to earn my spot. It doesn't really matter who you are or what you did the year before. I think competition just makes players better." Ayodele, who had played in only 13 games in the three seasons prior to '09, signed his restricted free-agent tender of $1.101 Million on April 13. The Saints could spend a draft pick on a nose tackle to compete with him in next week's draft, and Ayodele, who said he's happy to be back with the Saints, would welcome the challenge.
