Found August 25, 2013 on Fox Sports:
Houston's Andre Johnson had 131 yards receiving before halftime in his first extended work of the preseason Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. But New Orleans' backups scored two touchdowns in the second half to help the Saints to a 31-23 victory. Johnson didn't play in the preseason opener and had less than a quarter of work last week. On Sunday, he grabbed seven of the eight passes thrown to him, highlighted by a 39-yard reception. Matt Schaub was 15 of 26 for 213 yards for Houston (2-1), and Ben Tate ran for 74 yards and a score filling in for Arian Foster. Drew Brees was four of six for 104 yards and a touchdown for the Saints (3-0) before sitting down after the third possession. With Marques Colston still sitting out with a left foot injury, rookie fifth-round pick Kenny Stills continued to impress with 54 yards receiving and a touchdown. Backup Luke McCown came in with 8 eight minutes left in the second quarter. He finished with 118 yards and two touchdown...

Player Spotlight: Randy Bullock

In this weeks’ edition of Player Spotlight we look at the impact of Houston Texans kicker Randy Bullock. Bullock’s impact on this year’s Texans team could be a huge one depending on whether or not the Texans can fix their redzone deficiencies. Second year kicker Randy Bullock has made a great impression throughout training camp and in the preseason. Going into this year there...

Saints Nation: 2013 53 Man Roster Prediction (Final Edition)

Ok here's my final stab at this. The big surprise I have is Jonathan Vilma on IR with the ability to come back later in the season, which means Victor Butler is done for the year. The Saints should cut a few guys by Tuesday to pare down to 75, and then they'll need to go to 53 after the Thursday night game by 6:30pm on 8/31 (Saturday). For me the toughest decision by far...

New Orleans Saints lose Will Smith for the season

The New Orleans Saints suffered another unneeded blow to the defense. Outside linebacker Will Smith, the longest tenured Saint, sustained a knee injury and is out for the rest of season. Smith was making the transition to the 3-4 outside linebacker after playing his whole career at 4-3 defensive end. Though Smith was having his issues with the transition, his loss is yet another...

Texans' Brandon Harris fined $21,000

Houston Texans DB Brandon Harris got slapped with a $21,000 fine for unnecessary roughness in their preseason contest with the Miami Dolphins last Saturday night, a league source told's Ian Rapoport on Friday.

Texans hope to know more about Reed's status soon

HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Texans expect by the end of this week to have a better idea whether injured safety Ed Reed will play in their season opener. Coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that Reed is in Vail, Colo., visiting the surgeon who performed his April hip surgery to repair a partially-torn labrum. He will receive injections in his hip during the visit and then travel Atlanta...

Matt Schaub Says ‘Super Bowl’ Is Next Step For Texans

Matt Schaub may not admit it, but he’s under an enormous amount of pressure to produce this season. The Houston Texans have the necessary parts to make a Super Bowl run, but the most scrutinized player on the team will have to be at his best for the Texans to shake off consecutive first weekend exits in the playoffs. Schaub understands what is expected of him, and hears the whispers...

Arian Foster: The AFC’s Mystery Man

Battle of the heavyweights here Sunday. When it was mostly first-teamers versus first-teamers through the first half the score was the rejuvenated Saints (with some frisky new pups on defense) 17 Texans (minus J.J. Watt and Arian Foster) 16. If the Saints can play defense they have a chance to play deep into January. If the Texans can get 16 games out of the idled Foster they can...

Five things to know from Saints-Texans

The Houston Texans wanted to establish their running game against the New Orleans Saints after failing to do so in their previous two preseason games. Ben Tate helped them do just that. Tate ran for 74 yards and a score before halftime filling in for Arian Foster, in the Texans' 31-23 loss to the Saints on Sunday. ''He looked very good,'' coach Gary Kubiak...

Report: Saints LB Will Smith Likely Out For The Season

Pro Football Talk is reporting that Saints LB Will Smith is expected to be out for the entire 2013 season after he suffered a knee injury against the Texans. The Saints asked Smith to change his position from defensive end to outside linebacker this season as they move to a 3-4 base defense. Smith reportedly dropped weight to make the transition. Smith, 32, is under contract through...

Gameday Prep: New Orleans Edition

The third preseason game is upon us and the Houston Texans are set for the so called “dress rehearsal” for their starters and key rotational players. With the offensive powerhouse New Orleans Saints coming to town, this will be a good test for a Texans’ secondary that struggled all of 2012.  Drew Brees will test the Texans’ defense and the Saints defense has been looking...

Houston Texans Fans Take Their Tailgating Seriously

There is tailgating and than there is hanging out before the game starts to drink a few beers. Fans in Houston--well, those folks now how to tailgate! Here is it just  a preseason game between their boys and the New Orleans Saints, and this fan brought their own porta-potty to the game. Cause when you have to go you have to go, right? [H/T to Busted  Coverage]

Parys Haralson Traded to the New Orleans Saints

Well that didn’t take long… Hours after news broke that outside linebacker Parys Haralson was being shopped. The 49ers media was reporting on twitter that Parys Haralson was saying his goodbyes to his teammates. Early indication was that he was infact traded, but no reports on to whom or for what. Cam Inman was the first to report that it was apparently the New Orleans Saints...
