New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis announced that the team has signed their third-round draft pick John Jenkins, a defensive tackle out of Georgia.
The 4-year deal was signed on Friday, just in time for the start of the team's rookie minicamp. The 6-foot-3, 359-pound Jenkins was the last to sign of their five selections.
Per the Associated Press, via the Daly Comet: ' Jenkins played at Georgia for two seasons after transferring from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He started all 13 games last season, when he was credited with 50 tackles, one sack, two tackles for losses and a fumble recovery. On Thursday, the Saints signed its four other draft picks — first-round pick Kenny Vaccaro of Texas, third-round pick Terron Armstead of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, fifth-round pick Kenny Stills of Oklahoma and sixth-round pick Rufus Johnson of Tarleton State.
