New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham dealt with a wrist
injury throughout much of the season, and the third-year player underwent
surgery to repair the lingering ailment earlier this month, according to Mike Triplett of The Times-Picaynne.
New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham had surgery
to repair his lingering wrist injury earlier this month, a league source
confirmed.
As a result of the surgery, Graham had to turn down the opportunity
to play in this weekend’s Pro Bowl.
Triplett notes that the exact nature of Graham’s injury
remains unknown, but he’s expected to have plenty of time to recover before
summer and training camps begin.
Graham’s injury didn’t cause him to miss time in 2012, and
he was extremely productive for the Saints, catching 85 passes for 982 yards
and nine touchdowns. Still, Graham led the NFL in drops with 14, something that
can likely be attributed at least in part to his wrist injury.
