Found May 23, 2013 on FF Locker Room:
The New Orleans Saints have waived 2011 7th round draft pick DE Greg Romeus. Romeus tore his right ACL during his final year at Pittsburgh and then tore his left ACL/MCL during 2012 OTA’s. He’s never made it to an NFL game but could mount a comeback if he has it in him. It’s not easy to bounce back from these types of injuries in back-to-back years but not impossible. The Saints were also not willing to wait on Romeus to recover because he doesn’t fit well with their new 3-4 scheme. If he makes it back next season, it’s likely to be with a team employing a 4-3.   The post Saints Waive 2011 Seventh Round Pick DE Greg Romeus appeared first on FFLockerRoom | Fantasy Sports Advice | Sports News | Sports Talk |.

Rob Ryan: 'I don't like getting fired'

New Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan seems motivated to do well with a new team after getting fired from the same position with the Cowboys.

Saints Nation: Mickey Loomis Turning in His Best Work Yet

Last offseason I made a mistake that I later promised I would never make again. It was in the heat of Marques Colston, Carl Nicks and Drew Brees approaching a free agency hit, which forced the Saints to franchise tag their star quarterback. At the time I accused Loomis of mismanaging the offseason, and my personal favorite quote from that time coming from yours truly...

Saints Nation: Most Intriguing Camp Battles

There's a number of starting spots that I feel are up for grabs right now as OTAs are under way and there's a number of battles I'm incredibly intrigued by. The scheme switch to a 3-4 will create an enormous amount of competition, as will some changes on the offense with the departure of Devery Henderson and Jermon Bushrod. Here's positions that I'm going to be...

Saints sign Roman Harper to an extension

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Saints have signed safety Roman Harper to an extension. #Saints S Roman Harper signed a extension that includes $4M fully guaranteed in Year 1. Was set to make $5.25M in ’13. No full details yet — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 24, 2013 My understanding is that Roman Harper now is signed through 2015, so he tacked on an extra year...

Drew Brees 2013 Fantasy Football Preview and Projection

When looking at fantasy football quarterbacks over the past five seasons, few have been more consistent and more productive than New Orleans Saint’s signal caller Drew Brees. Not only has Brees finished among the top two among quarterbacks in fantasy points scored in four of the last five seasons, he’s also thrown for over 5,000 yards in three of his last five seasons. From 2008...

Roman Harper Signs “Extension” With The Saints

Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported earlier in the day that the Saints had renegotiated the contract of S Roman Harper. Ian Rapoport reports that Harper actually received an extension that will add another year to his contract. According to Rapoport, Harper receives $4 million guaranteed in 2013. Harper, 30, was set to make $5.25 million for this season...

2013 Fantasy Football Preview: New Orleans Saints

Is it wishful thinking that things on the bayou should be back to back to normal in 2013-14?That is exactly what the Saints are hoping for, trying to forget about the ills of the previous year with “Bounty Gate” and the loss of their head coach to the present with head coach Sean Payton again it the helm.Could the return of Payton, who seemed to have everything under control...

Saints Nation: A Quiet Offseason is a Welcomed Change

This is what I often refer to as the "dead zone" for a blogger of an NFL football team. Things tend to pick up a little bit with OTAs underway and you often get little nuggets of news around now, but this period between the draft and training camp is often brutal for most bloggers and we all suffer from "writer's block". Coming up with interesting material...

Saints Nation Podcast: Saints' OTA Recap Edition

Ralph is joined by Dave and Andrew to discuss the Saints OTAs and the return of Sean Payton. Ralph could not be more excited for the Rob Ryan era. Andrew tries to figure out of Will Smith will be any good at linebacker. Are any linebackers worth more than a dollar? Dave is not pleased with the left tackle situation and all the options scare him. The guys make crazy predictions off...

Ryan: Hurt feelings bringing him, Saints together

Rob Ryan figures his firing in Dallas will only help him relate to a Saints defense humbled by a historically bad season. ''I don't like getting fired,'' Ryan said Thursday during his first meeting with reporters since Sean Payton hired him in February to revamp New Orleans' last-ranked defense. ''I know I got my feelings hurt and so did our players...
