Ford Field turned into a house of horrors for the Lions on Sunday as they lost their third straight game 20-13 against the Vikings to fall to 1-3 heading into the bye week.
It seems like the same problems are facing the Lions in all of the losses, lack of consistent running game, big plays and special teams issues. Always good to see that a team is struggling in all three parts of the game.
First with the lack of running game, having only 20 attempts is low for any team. Even our pass-happy offense needs to try to run the ball more than that on a game-by-game basis.
Yes Mikel Leshoure did have 100 yards rushing in his first game with the team, but to follow it up with only 26 yards in the next, along with a fumble, leaves more questions than answers for the ground game.
Next with giving up big plays, the Lions were torched for 13 plays of over 20 yards in the past two games alone. Our defense isn’t that great anyhow, but to give up chunks of yardage that big on that many occasion...
