The San Diego Chargers are currently being investigated by the NFL for cheating against the Denver Broncos this past Monday night. In a report by CBS Sports, a line judge saw an equipment personnel for the Chargers giving players an illegal substance. The line judge then confiscated the substance and into the hands of the NFL.
According to Fox Sports, the equipment manager for the San Diego Chargers put some sort of substance onto some hand towels that players would use. The line judge requested for the towels and the equipment personnel refused to do so. He was later forced to empty his pockets and that’s when the substance was discovered.
This could be very detrimental for the Chargers. For example, the New Orleans Saints with the whole “Bountygate” scandal has really hurt that franchise. If the Chargers are indeed found to be cheating using an illegal substance, there will be hefty fines and suspensions.
