The Sand Diego Chargers defense has undoubtedly went over a huge makeover in the past two seasons. Adding multiple players through the draft and free agency. What stands out the most about this particular Chargers defense is the mixture of experience and youth, speed and size, and overall raw talent that the unit has. Last year wasn’t the worst of statistical seasons for the Chargers, but they just seemed to give up the wrong plays at the wrong times. In an interview after OTA’s, Chargers LB Takeo Spikes said that the defense was focusing on third down situations and two-minute drills this offseason. The mood of the interview was that of a good one however. Said Spikes about this years defensive group, “We have what it takes to get it done” Let’s start by looking at the Chargers defensive line.
