And just about the time that no one in the NFL world thought the Cleveland Browns would not find a trade partner for the expendable Colt McCoy, here comes another team interested in acquiring him. McCoy didn’t figure into the offensive plans of the Browns this season under rookie head coach Rob Chudzinski, but it was widely believed that he would eventually be released by the club that drafted him in the third-round. Jason LaCanfora reported this afternoon that the Browns did trade McCoy to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for an undisclosed late-round draft pick. He trades clubs for likely nothing higher than a sixth-round selection. Tading away picks is something the Niners have the luxury of doing this season, coming into the draft later this month stocked with selections. The Niners had a need to fill at the backup quarterback position after trading Alex Smith away to the Kansas City Chiefs last month.
