A surprising pick by San Francisco, as I expected the team to pick an offensive lineman or defensive player in the first round of the draft. While the team is not 100 percent solid at the wide receiver poisiition they did sign Mario Manningham, and Randy Moss in the offseason and could of drafted a receiver later in the Draft.
However in drafting A.J. Jenkins San Francisco is trying to secure their receiver poistion for the future and give themselves a chance to compete in better should they make the playoffs again this offseason.
Over the past few years, many teams including San Franciso have gambled on recievers and lost. Only time will tell if San Francisco set themselves back with drafting Jenkins.
