Things keep getting worse for the New York Jets. First, Darrelle Revis, arguably the league's best CB goes down and is done for the season. Then they get absolutely beat down by the 49ers on Sunday, and now they learn that receiver Santonio Holmes will be out for the rest of the season, not a few weeks as many thought.

Although is was floated around as a possibility, no one in the Jets' organization wanted to hear the nature of the injury - the dreaded Lisfranc.

[ The Lisfranc injury (also known as the Lisfranc fracture, Lisfranc dislocation, Lisfranc fracture dislocation, tarsometatarsal injury, or simply midfoot injury) is an injury of the foot in which one or all of the metatarsal bones are displaced from the tarsus.[1][2] This type of injury is named after Jacques Lisfranc de St. Martin (2 April 1790–13 May 1847), the French surgeon and gynecologist who first described the injury in 1815, after the War of the Sixth Coalition.[3]  ] (wikipedia)

With Mark Sanchez looking about as bad as he has ever been Sunday, the Jets have some important decisions to make if the're going to keep at least some hope alive for the 2012 season.

With Holmes gone, who's Sanchez's go to guy now? Do they pull him and have Tim Tebow just run all over the place and see what they can get out of him?

That might be a plan. That way Rex Ryan can keep Sanchez fresh for the Super Bowl.
