If it happens and it’s important Saturday Night Live is probably going to mock it. Your situation or drama is not official until the cast of SNL gets a hold of it.
So you knew that the power outage at the Super Bowl would get it’s chance on SNL. Per USA Today, the episode focused on the performance of the CBS crew during the outage, while making fun of studio hosts James Brown, Dan Marino, Bill Cowher and Shannon Sharpe.
The impressions were not perfect, but the idea, and the premise of what happened was spot on.

SNL spoofs CBS Super Bowl blackout coverage
Even though we were almost a full week removed from the Super Bowl, Saturday Night Live could not let the blackout (and CBS's coverage) go unspoofed. It is a mix of trying to mask his own panic while trying to keep everyone else'...

During last week’s Super Bowl, it was obvious that CBS had no idea how to handle the unexpected blackout that came just minutes after the halftime show.
