New York Jets
San Francisco 49ers
Well I can’t say I didn’t see this coming, a short week after a deflating Sunday night loss where there were a few key injuries incurred but I’m not going to make this an “I told you so” type of post because those are unproductive and douchey (doo-shee). However, I am here to assess our chances of righting the ship and salvaging what has been a season characterized by inconsistency. The Broncos game highlighted the flaws in the construction of the 2011 Jets, flaws that have plagued them throughout the season. It is pretty safe to say that this was not one of Mike Tannenbaum’s greatest off-seasons, after arguably his best during the 2010 off season.
The most blaring and most crucial personnel decision that “Trader Mike” made this abbreviated off season was the signing of career back-up offensive lineman, Wayne Hunter to a long-term deal to replace the former Pro Bowler Damien Woody. Former New York Jets offensive lineman and current ESPN analyst Damien Woody admitted that quarterback Mark Sanchez is not looking good.
"You could make an argument that (Sanchez is) going backwards in his third year," Woody said of the 25-year-old Sanchez.
Sanchez struggled again as the Denver Broncos (5-5) rallied for a 17-13 victory over the Jets (5-5) on Thursday...
The Jets have played 42 regular-season games since they gave up a king's ransom to take Mark Sanchez with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 draft. Those games have been filled with highs and lows, as is the case with any NFL quarterback. But typically, those are the growing pains of a young quarterback, and they come with signs of maturity, as well. Sanchez's growth spurt...
This was long after Tim Tebow had ruined the Jets' night in Denver with his 20-yard touchdown run in a 17-13 loss to the Broncos. There were no players left in the Jets' locker room, except for quarterback Mark Sanchez, who limped across the room after taking an ice bath for several minutes, the water still dripping from his waist down. His right shoulder was wrapped inside...
Let’s start with something comforting
Despite a recent rough patch of games, Mark Sanchez still is on the exact same pace that Eli Manning was on to start his career and we see how Eli has turned out. Sanchez is not without blame, he is inconsistent, inaccurate and gets jittery in the pocket.
However, I am still of the belief that he has the physical tools and leadership abilities...

DENVER — Mark Sanchez couldn’t beat Tim Tebow last night.
And that’s about all you really need to know about him.
Blame him for the loss.
He said so himself.

DENVER — Jets coach Rex Ryan had a message yesterday for everyone blaming quarterback Mark Sanchez for the team’s problems: Get off his back.
The day after a crushing 17-13 loss to the Broncos that included a killer interception for a touchdown from Sanchez, Ryan stood by his signal-caller.
