The Seattle Seahawks are ready to build on the success of 2012. Their opponents, the Carolina are also looking to build after a strong second half. On Sunday the two teams meet at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. for a Week 1 match-up. Coverage of this game will air on FOX beginning at 1:00 pm ET. The visiting Seattle Seahawks are a 3.5 point favorite against the Carolina Panthers. The over/under for this game is 45 total points. Last year the Seahawks defeated the Panthers 16-12 while holding them to just 190 yards of offense. Does Cam Newton get Carolina going or will Russell Wilson and the Seahawks aided by their vaunting defense win on the road?

Mobile Quarterbacks: What Sets Kaepernick and Wilson Apart from the pack?

As much as ESPN and NFL.com want you to think otherwise, quarterbacks who can make plays on their feet are nothing new to the game of football. 100 years ago when football was in it’s youth, the quarterback we’ve come to know today was really just another running back.  Forward passing wasn’t even a big part of the game until a while later.  And even then, when pocket quarter...

Cam Newton gets sweet Superman cleats from Under Armour

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton displayed his special new Superman cleats from Under Armour on Sunday.  I’m not sure if he wore them during the game or not, but if he did, I have to believe that would be a violation of the NFL’s strict dress code.  Either way, these cleats are slick. Cam Newton Sports the Superman Cleats But Russell Wilson Ends Up Being the Hero

Cam Newton was hoping to channel the Man of Steel Sunday in the Carolina Panthers season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. He had his work cut out for him against a tough Seattle defense not to mention the possibility he may have to match Russell Wilson in offensive production. For much of the game it appeared as if Cam just might walk away the winner and the hero, but than...

Matthew Heuett: Russell Wilson doesn’t get enough credit as pocket passer

This is the inaugural installment of “Catcalls,” a weekly column in which I will attempt to arrange a discussion with someone who covers the upcoming foe for the Carolina Panthers. Carolina loses 12-7 to Seattle in season opener

Cam Newton and the Carolina Panther sputtered on offense for much of the day. And they still had a chance to beat the Seattle Seahawks. Coach Ron Rivera thinks that's one reason to be encouraged about his team's chances for this season. Newton threw a touchdown pass to Steve Smith in the first half, but that was all the offense for Carolina in a 12-7 loss to Seattle in...
