When the Cowboys were looking for a safety in free agency, it wasn't Wade Phillips who was pushing for Jerry Jones to sign Gerald Sensabaugh.
"(Secondary coach Dave) Campo and Joe D. (special teams coach Joe DeCamillis) both were at Jacksonville (with Sensabaugh) and both highly recommended them," Phillips said.
But now Phillips is firmly on the Sensabaugh bandwagon. Asked Wednesday, if Sensabaugh is better than he thought, Phillips said, "Yeah, I think so. I didn't know how good he was. I wasn't sure. I looked at him on film and thought he was a good player. But he's a pretty exciting player. He makes plays and is very athletic and been that way since we've had him. He's looked good the whole time. There hasn't been any downside where you say, well, 'I don't know if this guy is good enough to play. I don't know if he can do this or that.' He can do most of the things we need done.''
