The Viking Age:
Repeating anything Charley Walters says is an iffy proposition, but what the heck, I have no credibility to lose, so (via the Pioneer-Press)…
Latest buzz is that new free-agent QB Brett Favre, 39, who could end up with the Vikings, has hired a personal trainer at home in Mississippi.
Favre’s sudden arrival on the market makes you wonder if that’s the reason the Vikings haven’t spent much on free agency this year. Maybe they knew something.
No Charley: the reason the Vikings didn’t spend anything in free agency was, there was nothing worth having (except T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who spurned us, and will absolutely kick himself if we do sign Favre). And about Favre hiring a personal trainer: maybe he wants to stay in shape so he can get more movie work. He was so awesome in There’s Something About Mary.
Shooter also thinks this whole play could be a bluff intended to get the Packers to re-offer the $20 million they said they’d give Favre to go away last year. Is it worth $20 million to the Packers to keep Favre out of purple?
