Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice told reporters today that the knee procedure he underwent in Switcerland was similar to the platelet Rich Plasma treatment that some players undergo. “Something I set up earlier in the offseason, a little bit after OTAs,” he said, via the Seattle Times. “It was a long process, things I had to go through with the doctors over there. Just fortunate coach (Pete Carroll) gave me the opportunity to go over and getting it done and thankful for my teammates for not making it a big deal to leave practice.” The treatment only took 20 minute, but the flight was 10 hours each way. “It was a quick turnaround. Like 10,000 miles, and it only took 20 minutes for the procedure. Got straight off the plane yesterday after a 10-hour flight and came in and none other than my wide receiver coach, Kippy Brown, couldn’t wait to throw me in there. It was good being back out there.” Rice explained where he heard about the procedure. “It was something I had seen a few years ago and going over with Sam,Sam Ramsden (Seattle’s direftor of player health and performance) just sat down and talked about it and he thought it was a good idea. Couldn’t do nothing but help. That’s the worst thing, so might as well give it a try and see where it goes.” Need NFL Tickets? Loading...
