I think Harbaugh knew when He drafted Kaepernic that He was going to be the leader of the 49ers and just had Smith hold down the fort til He thought Kaepernic was ready and evidently he thinks he's ready, He also drafted Tolzien to be the backup and now will be able to get rid of Alex, sorry for Alex but football is about winning and Harbaugh thinks he has a better chance with Colin in there
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter (via Evan Silva), there are people around the NFL that believe the San Francisco 49ers will stick with Colin Kaepernick as their starting quarterback and not go back to Alex Smith.
Kaepernick was on a conference call yesterday with the St. Louis media. That could be a sign that he’ll be starting this week.
I really believe Kaepernick is more of a weapon than Smith and gives the 49ers a better chance at winning. We’re supposed to find out today who their starter will be.

I would love to jump on the Kaepernic and 49'es bandwagon, since my Raiders are playing with the fantasty people now, kind of patty-caking about Carson Palmer's screen pass stats when behind by 20 points. BUT, I've yet to see either of the 9'ers QB's prove that their peripheral vision can include Randy Moss, who is constantly open downfield.

Yeah. The 9'ers got to the NFC championship game last year without a QB.

Columnist criticizes Kaepernick for tats
After likening an NFL QB to a CEO, a columnist took 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick to task for his tattoos, writing, "you don’t want your CEO to look like he just got paroled.”
Colin Kaepernick’s parents defend him against criticism over tattoos
Colin Kaepernick has officially been given the chance to become the next face of the San Francisco 49ers, and so far he has answered the call. There has been little to criticize Kaepernick for in his first two NFL starts, both of which were convincing wins. While it would be difficult to criticize him for his play, one writer felt the need to bash him for something totally unrelated...
Colin Kaepernick “Unbeated” In 1st 2 Career Starts, According To ESPN
Thanks to @hansrasmussen for watching ESPN closely for this solid grammatical error. Actually, “unbeated” does work in that graphic. Kaepernick is 2-0 and unbeated. He’s also non-defeated. Look at the new 49ers QB’s remaining five games; looks like 4-1 or 3-2 at worst. Mr. Unbeated should be just fine.

San Francisco 49ers: Colin Kaepernick named starting quarterback
The quarterback controversy by the bay looks like it will continue to drag on for the remainder of the 2012 NFL season, but it increasingly looks like second-year signal-caller Colin Kaepernick has the inside track on the job. On Wednesday, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh named Kaepernick the starter for San Francisco’s Sunday matchup with the St. Louis Rams.
While Harbaugh hasn’t...
49ers going with Colin Kaepernick as their starting quarterback
San Francisco 409ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has announced that Colin Kaepernick will be their starting quarterback going forward.
Jim Harbaugh announces 49ers starting QB: Kaepernick.
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoCSN) November 28, 2012
From the begining I’ve believe Kaepernick gives the 49ers the best chance to win, so I believe this is the best move for them.

Colin Kaepernick’s Tattoos Threatenening Clean-Cut Mold of NFL Quarterbacks, Says Ignorant Columnist
Colin Kaepernick‘s arms are full of tattoos. This, apparently, ensures that the San Francisco 49ers quarterback will never, ever be a legitimate hero for the NFL or the 49ers even. It also means that the golden age of good old boys under center in the National Football League is just about over.
That’s what it sounds like AOL Fanhouse columnist David Whitley thinks, at least...
Harbaugh, 49ers juggling more than just quarterbacks?
In the NFL it’s often said that success is contagious. Once a franchise taps into a winning formula, it’s used until the well runs dry. This is the case for the San Francisco 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh in 2012.
As everyone knows quarterback Alex Smith has seemingly been replaced as the Niners starting signal caller by the more elusive Colin Kaepernick. In doing so...
On RG3 and Kaepernick: It’s 2012 And We’re Talking About TATTOOS AND BRAIDS
Only way a person believes that tattoos suddenly make this sweet faced individual look like a thug is if they’re one chromosome from having one chromosome.
So, let me guess…people learned zero, zip, nada, nothing from Allen Iverson?
Let me refresh your memory. Allen Iverson was lambasted for years for having visible tattoos and cornrows. Fastforward barely a decade after...

Smith part of 49ers QB controversy long before Kaepernick
Just as he was playing possibly the of his eight-year career, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith saw it all unravel in the last three weeks after a concussion sidelined him on Nov. 11 and second-year pro Colin Kaepernick stepped in. Now healthy, Smith finally spoke up Thursday, a day after head coach Jim Harbaugh named Kaepernick the starter for Sunday's game in St. Louis and, it...
49ers’ Vernon Davis: ‘Alex Is Still the Man’
Clearly, the 49ers have found something in changing quarterback at 6-2-1 on the season. With Colin Kaepernick at the helm, they are now 2-0 and now among the favorites to win the Super Bowl. However, not everyone agrees. Vernon Davis told reporters this after Sunday’s gritty win over the Saints on the road. “It’s difficult, [...]

Straight Outta Stockton - Week 12
This week's Straight Outta Stockton could easily be renamed Straight Outta Aikman as the lead NFL on Fox analyst had a rough time during yesterday's Saints-49ers game. While a few of those are noted below, I have to pay tribute to the work Aikman is doing to the English language. Multiple times during Sunday's telecast, Aikman said "I don't disagree"...
49ers will turn to their top draft picks this week
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that 49ers rookies WR A.J. Jenkins and RB LaMichael James are expected to make their regular season debuts against the Rams in Week 13. Jenkins and James were San Francisco’s first- and second-round picks respectively in this past year’s NFL Draft. Jenkins caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown in the preseason, while James rushed for...
Jason Babin Claimed Off Waivers by Jaguars
That was fast, but not what I expected.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that recently-released Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro defensive end Jason Babin has been claimed off of waivers, but just not by a playoff-contender. According to Schefter, it’s the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Not sure if the claim says more about contending team’s salary-restraints, or how they feel about Babin...
