PLAYERS: Mario Williams
TEAMS: Buffalo Bills

Mario Williams is touted as one of the NFL’s top pass rushers and this offseason the Buffalo Bills did everything but lock him down to ensure he signed as a free agent.
Williams’ $100 million dollar contract includes $50 million in guaranteed money, the richest contract ever given to an NFL defensive player.
After-all, if the Bills wanted to fix their anemic pass rush they would need a star. Someone like “Super Mario” to address their highest offseason priority.
At that time Williams said he felt “no pressure” and that he was “ecstatic, very excited and couldn’t wait for the opportunity.’
As we fast forward, many Bills fans believe Mario’s princess might be in another castle.… Read more

Mario Williams blaming his poor play on his wrist injury

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams told ProFootballWeekly.com that his wrist injury is affecting his ability to get past opposing offensive lineman because he can’t use his hands the way he needs to.“I always get doubled, get chipped or get triples — it is what it is. The biggest thing that I have to do is to use my hands and overcome the whole wrist thing,” he said...

Are the wheels falling off the wagon of the Buffalo Bills?

After the events that transpired at Candlestick Park many Buffalo Bills fans are losing patience with a team that had shown so much promise going into the season. The Bills were absolutely manhandled at the hands both sides of the ball. The defensive front four including Mario Williams, Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus was nonexistent with their pass rush and couldn’t apply any...

Analyst starting to rethink the Buffalo Bills this season

The Buffalo Bills losing efforts this season now have some experts re-thinking how the team will do this season. James Walker, a NFL analyst for ESPN, now believes the Miami Dolphins may the second-best team in the AFC West. This comes as the Dolphins are tied with the Bills and New York Jets with 2-3 records. “Miami has been the most consistent of the three teams this season...

Bills DE Mark Anderson to miss significant time

According to Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix, defensive end Mark Anderson is expected to miss significant time with a knee injury.“Well he’s going to miss significant time,” Bills GM Buddy Nix told Buffalobills.com. “We don’t know exactly how long it’ll be yet. We should know by tonight or first thing in the morning how long it’ll be, but we do know that he’s...

Bills plan on splitting reps between Spiller and Jackson

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey plans on using both C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson for this Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.“We need to get (the run game production) back and if we don’t get that back we’ll struggle offensively,” Gailey said, per BuffaloBills.com. “We’ve got to have a balanced running game to complement our passing game. It’s going to be important...

Knee injury will sideline Anderson

The Buffalo Bills have suffered another blow to their porous defense. Defensive end Mark Anderson will have surgery on his left knee and will be out indefinitely. Anderson, who signed a four-year, $27 million contact prior to the season, suffered the injury - and had difficulty putting any weight on it - in the second half last Sunday during the 45-3 blowout at San Francisco. ...

Bills GM Nix: DE Anderson to miss significant time

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson is out indefinitely after hurting his left knee in what becomes the latest blow for a porous defense. General manager Buddy Nix told the team's website Wednesday that the injury is not season-ending, but Anderson will miss significant time. Nix said Anderson is visiting specialist James Andrews to determine the severity of the injury...

Leadership lacking at One Bills Drive

Same old Bills, I thought as I flipped the TV off and the movie on. You can make big changes and add supposed talent to the roster. You can claim the expectations are higher, but in the NFL all of that is akin to powdering a woman’s nose and calling her wife material before your first date. You still have to be right upstairs or nothing else matters. The unfortunate reality is...

Bills searching for answers on offense, too

The Buffalo Bills' horrendous defense over the last two games isn't the only problem. The Ryan Fitzpatrick-led offense has been inconsistent, at best, and now features an injury-depleted line that is expected to be down some starters this weekend. From bad to worse. Indeed, when the Bills (2-3) face Arizona (4-1) on Sunday, they will be short-handed and searching for answers...

Buffalo Bills (2-3) at Arizona Cardinals (4-1) NFL Week 6 Preview

http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2012/09/mike-martz-insists-ryan-fitzpatrick-is-playoff-caliber.html Follow @Dan Vasta and like Gridiron Grit on Facebook  The amount of points that the Bills have given up is atrocious and it cannot be for real, but wake up because the points are coming in bunches. They are 31st in the NFL allowing 35.2 PPG and the playmakers come...

Field Goals - Questions to be answered

Things certainly got ugly in a hurry for the Bills. Shortly after dismantling the Browns, some were wondering where the Bills could end up on the other side of their showdowns with New England and San Francisco. Well, they came out 2-3, like many thought in the preseason. But the Bills didn’t end up 2-3 in the manner that most expected. A pair of lopsided losses has all...

Bills-Cardinals Preview

A visit from the defensively challenged Buffalo Bills might be what the banged-up Arizona Cardinals need to get back on track. Now missing their top two rushers, the Cardinals look to rebound from their first loss of the season while trying to hand the reeling Bills a third consecutive defeat Sunday. Arizona (4-1) was off to its best start in 38 years before being roughed up in...

Brian Cushing's Season-Ending Injury Could See Texans' Super Bowl Dreams Slowly Disappear

When Mario Williams decided to take his talents to Buffalo during the most recent offseason, the Houston Texans defense suddenly became the property of middle linebacker Brian Cushing. Now, the Texans are in the market for a new owner once again, at least until the end of this season. The All-Pro linebacker suffered what was determined as an ACL tear in Monday night...
