Though it made for a nice August storyline, "Tuel Time" is temporarily on hold in Buffalo.
According to a source, Bills first-round pick EJ Manuel practiced on Tuesday and the quarterback is now "healthy and ready to go for Week 1."
Buffalo head coach Doug Marrone is expected to name the starter Wednesday for the season opener Sunday against the New England Patriots.
Manuel, the 16th overall selection of the 2013 draft, injured his knee in a preseason game against the Washington Redskins on Aug. 24. After undergoing a minor surgical procedure on his knee the following morning, Manuel missed the team's final two preseason games.
Jeff Tuel, the undrafted rookie free agent out of Washington State who made headlines by making the Bills' final 53-man roster, has been competing for the job with Manuel.
Veteran free-agent signing Matt Leinart was released on Friday, and offseason acquisition Kevin Kolb was placed on injured reserve last week after his latest concussion.

So it may not be "Tuel Time" after all. The Patriot's week one visit to Buffalo was looking more and more like a lay-up when it was announced Jeff Tuel, and undrafted free agent out of Washington State, would be the starting quarterback.
Even during his senior year, Tuel didn't exactly shine, throwing 8 TD's and 8 interceptions. So even for a Patriot's...
Twenty of the NFL's 32 starting quarterbacks are younger than 30 years old and seven of them were drafted in either 2012 or 2013, so we've become used to seeing green signal callers under center league-wide. However, only two rookies will start in Week 1 this season, and circumstances such as injuries were factors for both EJ Manuel and the Buffalo Bills and Geno Smith and...

The opening week of the NFL season always has its fair share of hiccups and problems that teams must work through. This season will be no different, with one exception. There are a ton of young signal callers preparing to start for their teams, and many of them aren’t ready to be thrown onto the NFL stage. Here’s the least-prepared of the bunch.
Jeff Tuel, Buffalo Bills
Week 1 is only a few days away, and with the Bills having some big questions to answer already. It'll be interesting how the Patriots will play and perform Sunday given that the Bills will be playing on a third string QB, a new head coach and some key defenders that are missing. It's kind of like a fifth preseason game for the Patriots, and I'm not trying to say this...
