You know how I know Jonathan Mills has more team spirit than any other player in the country? Because the Southern Miss forward has a haircut that features his jersey number and the team’s logo, the Golden Eagle. As The Dagger shared with us, Mills said the haircut has been a huge hit on campus.

“Everybody likes it,” he said. “My teammates love it, the fans love it, everyone who supports us loves it.”

What’s not to love? You don’t see many players across the country recreating the back of their jersey on the back of their dome. Arian Foster went with the team logo on his head during the Texans playoff run, but he didn’t have the number along with it.

On the flip side, legendary Team USA hockey coach Herb Brooks would roll over in his grave if he saw this. What was it that he said? The name on the front of the jersey is a hell of a lot more important than the number on the back of your head? Something like that.
