The St. Louis Rams have announced their intentions of
waiving wide receiver Titus Young just 10 days after claiming him off waivers from the Detroit Lions, according to Kareem Copeland of NFL.com.
The Rams spent almost a week interviewing Young after
claiming him from the Lions. Following the interview process, Rams coach Jeff Fisher
said the team “decided it was best for us to go a different direction.”
"We felt that he was not the best option for us at the
position," coach Jeff Fisher said. "We saw Titus as an
outstanding young player. The things that took place in Detroit were well
documented from a media standpoint.
Young was released from the Lions after several outbursts with the team, and St. Louis was the only club to put in a waiver claim for
Young. It’s been rumored that the talented wide receiver may not play again. It
certainly wouldn’t be due to his talent, but Young’s mercurial attitude is
clearly scaring teams off.
