New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis comes from a very solid pedigree playing in the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive system. Having the opportunity to play for legendary defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau is a post graduate education few NFL players get the luxury of having. In the coming weeks, cornerback Keenan Lewis will compete for a starting job with the New Orleans Saints, his hometown NFL franchise. He now will get a chance to play in Rob Ryan’s aggressive defense, a similar style to the Steelers and one that fits his playing style well. He will compete against incumbents Jabari Greer and Patrick Robinson, but his competitive side will make the battle that more intense. “As far as having confidence, he’s got a whole lot of that. That’s just part of growing up in New Orleans,” Taylor said, via Gary Estwick of The Advocate. “He’s a fierce competitor,” Pittsburgh cornerback Curtis Brown said of Lewis, who in Pittsburgh earned the nickname, “K-Lew.” “He competes out there every day at practice. That’s one thing that we all know about him. Just a great athlete and great competitor.” “Keenan is an extremely hard worker,” said Pittsburgh cornerback Cortez Allen. “He’s very serious about what he does,” Allen continued. “He puts a lot of work into what he does as far as film study, making sure he’s prepared for each game. I learned a lot from him about preparation. He’s very dedicated to what we do as cornerbacks and professional athletes.”
