NFL Injury Report:
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer was able to
practice for the second straight day Friday, meaning he is probable to play
Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs, while fellow running back Rashard
Mendenhall, wide receiver Antonio Brown and safety Troy Polamalu all missed
practice and are likely to miss the prime time contest.
Dwyer missed last week’s game against the New York Giants
due to a quad injury. He is expected to return this week and will likely take
at least a few carries away from last week’s starting running back, Isaac
Running back Chris Rainey, who sustained a rib injury
against the Giants, also returned to practice and should be able to suit up for
the Steelers. While Rainey doesn’t see many carries, he is a dynamic kick
returner for the team.
While Polamalu may be able to return next week against the Baltimore
Ravens, he’s going to miss Monday’s game, as are Mendenhall, Brown, linebacker
Stevenson Sylvester and offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert.

I had cautiously optimistic hopes preseason, as did much of the Pittsburgh Steelers fans, which were quickly replaced by frustrated chagrin after the first several games. But for the slow start, the real character of the team is beginning to shine through.
Now eight games into the 2012 season, a better picture can be formed of where the team is headed. Here are eight thoughts on...
