Good news for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They won't be seeing Eagles Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha roaming the secondary when the two teams face on Sunday.
But they will see plenty of rookie CB Brandon Boykin, and you can bet he will be tested.
“That’s the candy bar,” said Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, with a big grin on his face, according to the Observer-Reporter.
Snickers or Milky Way? “Snickers,” he told reporters.
With the 5-9,182 pound Boykin in the game, the Steelers feel that they can get their passing game going with success. In three games, Brown leads the team with 18 receptions, Mike Wallace has 17 and the #3 receiver Emmanuel Sanders has 10. TE Heath Miller is also doing well so far, the best start 8-year career in fact, with 15 receptions and four TDs.
“As long as we block stout, (passing) shouldn’t be an issue,” LT Max Starks said. “We have a great (core) of receivers that can all get open and make plays. Plus, you add Heath Miller in the middle, and you don’t really have enough guys who can cover. I think it’s going to be a great matchup for us. Outside of Asomugha and Cromartie-Rodgers, their nickel is a rookie. You have some guys who are inexperienced in there. Hopefully, we can get into some sets and be successful in those things.”
Look for Brandon Boykin to have a long day.
