Last season, we had Homes and Ward and the big question was who would step up into that #3 slot.
Limas, Shaun McDonald (remember him?) or Mike Wallace. I even wrote about it here. Clearly, we know how that big question turned out. Welcome to the 2010 season and we’re back to the same question.
It’s been predetermined that it won’t be Limas Sweed. Unfortunately, his achilles tear will have him out for 4 to 6 months and that’s pretty much a guarantee the #3 spot won’t be his. I think all of us, deep down, wished Sweed would be as productive as he had been at Texas. But, this story just shows that the NFL isn’t for everyone. It also doesn’t matter what round you get drafted in (Sweed = 2nd) you still have to prove yourself at the professional level. I hope that he comes back and can make football work for him, if not, I hope he chose a good major in college, the job market’s tough out there.
