Halfback Rashard Mendenhall, suspended for one week by Mike Tomlin, returned to the Steelers Monday.
The team reinstated him and will have a roster exemption for him until 4 p.m. Tuesday. Tomlin suspended him for Sunday's game against Dallas after Mendenhall did not show up for the Steelers' game at Heinz Field Dec. 9 against San Diego after his coaches informed him he would be inactive for the game.
Halfback Baron Batch was signed to the 53-man roster last week to replace Mendenhall.
