The Steelers will face off against a familiar face when they come back from the bye week.  Former Steelers, Pitt and West Allegheny Quarterback Tyler Palko will make his second career start versus his hometown team when the Chiefs take on the Steelers.  He will make his first career start this week versus the New England Patriots. Palko is getting the start because Chiefs Quarterback Matt Cassel is out indefinitely with a broken hand.  It is his throwing hand which means he will take even longer to get him ready to play.  Cassel may be lost for the season.  This is now Palko’s team for the time being. The Steelers should know everything there is to know about Palko.  He played at Pitt for 4 years in the same facility.  He spent time with the team in 2009 after some injuries to other quarterbacks on the Steelers roster.  He also grew up in the Pittsburgh area.  Any info the Steelers need I am sure they can get.

Steelers Could Face Tyler Palko After The Bye Week

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley announced today that starting quarterback Matt Cassel suffered a "significant hand injury" on Sunday in the loss to the Broncos and that he might be out for the season. Cassel was under duress most of the day against the Broncos as he was sacked 4 times and hit 12 other times in the game. He did not return to the game after that...

Could this be perfect time for Palko?

Perhaps this seems like a silly question. But why have Chiefs fans gone into raving panic simply because Tyler Palko will be playing quarterback this week against New England? And maybe for the rest of the season, too, if Matt Cassel's hand injury turns out to be as serious as it appears? Good grief! First of all, it's not like the Chiefs were tearing the league apart...

Palko takes over as Chiefs' starting quarterback

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Tyler Palko knows full well that the most popular guy in town is the backup quarterback. He's the one every fan wants to see at the first sign of trouble, whose name floats across the airwaves whenever the starter is struggling. Well, Palko has a chance to earn some of that popularity now. The Kansas City Chiefs' backup has been thrust into the spotlight...

Get ready for a lot of Tyler Palko

Ready or not, America is about to become very familiar with Tyler Palko. The last time we talked about Palko, Gerald McCoy of the Bucs was…

Ex-Chief Thigpen knows what Palko is up against

The odds were bad, and the mood was sour. An inexperienced quarterback with a discouraging NFL track record was the Chiefs' next in line, and he would be facing a team with a quarterback who would someday be a future Hall of Famer. Three seasons ago, Tyler Thigpen faced an assignment similar to the one Chiefs quarterback Tyler Palko will take on Monday night. Palko, stepping...

Pats digging into film vault for anything they can find on Tyler Palko???

With old friend Matt Cassel out with a hand injury, it looks like the Kansas City Chiefs will be starting backup Tyler Palko on Monday night. Who’s Tylor Palko. Well, two years ago, he was with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadiean Football League. So there you go. Patriot’s coach Bill Belichick is just trying to dig up something to watch to prepare.  ”He’s a player...

Bruised, battered Chiefs fall to Broncos 17-10

Matt Cassel stood on the sideline helplessly, watching backup quarterback Tyler Palko run the Chiefs' two-minute offense. He'd been bruised and battered by the Denver Broncos, so much so that the Kansas City training staff wouldn't let him play.

How Many Games Will Patriots Lose in Remainder of 2011 Season?

At 6-3, the Patriots are on the inside track for the AFC East crown. And the rest of the games on their schedule don't lend themselves to any changes in that regard. The remaining teams the Patriots face are a combined 21-43 (.328). Next week's Monday night showdown against the Chiefs got a lot more interesting (and probably a lot easier) with Monday's news that Chiefs...

Chiefs Tebow enough for close win against Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Matt Cassel stood on the sideline helplessly, watching backup quarterback Tyler Palko run the Chiefs two-minute offense. He'd been bruised and battered by the Denver Broncos, so much so that the Kansas City training staff wouldn't let him play. The ugly truth was that Cassel didn't do much when he was on the field Sunday. None of the Chiefs did.
