Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones is concerned about Felix Jones health. The Cowboys running back was listed as questionable on last weeks injury report because of a bruised left knee and it was revealed Thursday that he is also dealing with an injured shoulder.
Im concerned because hes not healthy, Stephen Jones said during Thursdays practice at Valley Ranch. We got one already that cant play. Hes banged up. I give Felix a lot of credit. Theres other backs that would probably just say, Hey, I need to get well before I get out there. But Felix is tough and he wants to be out there. We know hes not 100 percent, so does he. But he wants to play.
Hes got some things going on that are real. I give Felix a lot of credit for playing. Weve had players before in the past that wouldnt go out like that.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Thursday that the 25-year-old running back, who has been starting in place of the injured DeMarco Murray, hurt his shoulder in Sundays 29-24 loss to the New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium.
We just got to see Felixs health going in, Garrett said. Felix is coming off of a knee injury and also got a little banged up in his shoulder in the game the other day. So, well see what his health is going into this game.
