Inside the Bills:
Mathematically Sunday’s game between the Bills and Jets is being viewed by outside observers as an elimination game in terms of playoff contention. What do those directly involved in the game think?
With both teams at 5-5 and neither likely to catch the Patriots for the division title, it’s about the Wild Card race for the Jets and Bills. Here’s what Jets head coach Rex Ryan thinks.
“I don’t know if its win or go home, but it’s about as close as you can get to that,” he said. ”Both teams know it, obviously Buffalo knows that and we know that. So no team is going to deny that fact.”
Bills vet Chris Kelsay also knows whichever team drops this one is going to make themselves a supreme long shot for the postseason.
“There are a handful of teams competing for the last Wild Cart spot and we’re two of them,” said Kelsay. ”So obviously if you get beat by these guys, one they’ve swept us and two it looks like our chances for the playoffs ...

Jets Face November Must Win
Rex Ryan was 100 percent correct when he said the playoffs start now for the New York Jets. Fortunately for them their first round opponent is going to be the Buffalo Bills, a team who has been outscored 106-26 in their last three games. A team whose best player, running back Fred Jackson, won’t be playing this week. A team who has been besieged with injuries across the board...
Rex Ryan gives Mark Brunell some first-team snaps at practice to try to motivate Mark Sanchez
Rex Ryan leaned on superstition and a familiar tactic to motivate his young quarterback on Tuesday. For the second consecutive season, Ryan gave backup Mark Brunell some first-team snaps at practice to motivate Mark Sanchez and get his third-year signal caller out of his recent funk. Brunell ...

NFL Fines for Foul Language Help Control Image, But Punishments Need Consistency
It's safe to say few New Englanders minded when the NFL fined Jets coach Rex Ryan for swearing at a fan while leaving the field. The incident, which was caught on video by a fan with a cellphone, has generated debate among NFL fans. Is fining NFL personnel for foul language important for the league to control its image, or is it another futile attempt by the league to control...

Rex Ryan channels Schoney
Jets coach Rex Ryan was fined $75,000 this week for cursing at a fan at halftime of last week's game in Denver.

Jets Coach Rex Ryan Puts Thoughts Of QB Controversy To Bed
In ancient veteran Mark Brunell, Jets coach Rex Ryan doesn't exactly have a trump card to play in his efforts to motivate Mark Sanchez. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that Ryan gave his embattled starting QB another vote of confidence Wednesday. "I don't ever see myself taking Mark out of a game," Ryan said, according to the New York Daily News. Ryan did...
The Fifth Down: For Sanchez, Ryan Tries Another Round of Motivation

Brunell Gets Reps!
FLORHAM PARK–Rex Ryan shared today that he took a couple of snaps away from Mark Sanchez during practice this week and gave them to Mark Brunell. This is the same thing he did last year to try to light a fire under Sanchez. And it worked. Last year, Ryan said Sanchez was so mad, “He wanted to fight me.”
This year, Ryan said he hasn’t spoken to Sanchez all...
Assessing the Jets' Playoff Chances
During his weekly visit with the media, Mark Sanchez sounded upbeat when he said he thought the team had a good shot of making the playoffs.
You know things are bleak for Rex Ryan's team when a good shot at the playoffs qualifies as pie-in-the-sky dreaming. The Jets have a shot at the playoffs, but is it a good shot?
With half a dozen games left for a team that has played to...
Less Style, More Substance for Sanchez
Rex Ryan never skimps on entertainment value.
In the wake of two straight losses, the Jets coach decided to pull a little stunt during Tuesday's practice in order to get better play out of Mark Sanchez. Sanchez got pulled from the first string so Mark Brunell could take a few snaps.
We know that getting a rise out of Sanchez was the only reason for Brunell's appearance...
