GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Josh McCown said he didn't want to get too excited when asked about starting his first game Sunday for the Chicago Bears. Given the Bears' four-game losing streak and slim NFC playoff chances, it was hard to get excited about their chances of upsetting the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Josh McCown has a been-there-done-that attitude that is serving him well as QB for the Bears. In his debut for the team, he thoroughly outdid the performances of Caleb Hanie before him.
AFTERNOON SPORTS CLUB: The Bears were in a no-win situation with Josh McCown, but it was their own fault. Whether he was as bad as Caleb Hanie or played like Jay Cutler, anything McCown did against the Packers on Sunday night was an indictment of the Bears’ ability to evaluate quarterbacks.
