The Football Fan Spot:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) at Oakland Raiders (3-4)
After unimpressive wins over the Jaguars and Chiefs, the Raiders now sit at 3-4 and are somehow in the AFC playoff mix. However, they still aren’t very good. They have a point differential of -42. They got blown out in Oakland and in Miami and they weren’t impressive in either of their last 2 wins against crappy teams. They beat the Steelers in Oakland, but the Titans beat them in Tennessee. They also lost at home to San Diego and while they played the Falcons tough in Atlanta, so did the Panthers.
The Buccaneers, meanwhile, are at 3-4 as well, but they come from a tougher conference (the NFC is 20-12 against the AFC) and they’ve had more impressive wins. They also have a +31 points differential and they have yet to lose by more than a touchdown all year. Josh Freeman is 82 of 143 (57.3%) for 1309 yards (9.2 YPA), 10 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in his last 4 games.
He’s a natural deep ball thrower who was afraid to throw deep l...

Sebastian Janikowski was just awarded the AFC special teams player of the month award for the third time in the last four months. “SeaBass” finished the month of October converting 10-11 field goal attempts with the only miss being a 64 yard attempt against the Jaguars. He ended up sealing that game up with a field goal in overtime. Janikowski [...]

How about an honest assessment of his on...

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they have trade CB Aqib Talib to the Patriots.
We’re still waiting to hear what the Buccaneers received in terms of compensation for Talib.

(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) By JOSH DUBOW AP Sports Writer Carson Palmer and the Oakland Raiders have done a fairly good job moving the ball down the field so far this season.
Getting the ball into the end zone has been a different case.
The Raiders (3-4) have been one of the NFL's least efficient teams when it comes to red zone offense, scoring touchdowns on only about...

New England Patriots trade for Buccaneers’ Aqib Talib
The good old Pats are at it again, zigging when everyone thought they’d zag by actually making a trade at the deadline for cornerback Aqub Talib. Talib is currently suspended for Adderall but is eligible to return next week.
There’s no question he could be useful in the Patriots secondary, especially if they’d like to...
Last January, Chip Kelly walked away from an NFL position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers citing “unfinished business” as his reason for doing so. Despite rumors to the contrary, I did and will continue to take the Coach at his word regarding his motivation for staying put, and due to such am left with but one thought regarding Saturday night’s game at the L.A. Coliseum: It’s...
Tweet The New England Patriots have acquired cornerback Aqib Talib from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Terms of the deal were not immediately available. Talib has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement since the Bucs drafted him 20th overall in 2008, but still has a world of talent. Talib has been arrested twice in his young [...]
Tough blow for the Buccaneers today as they announced Pro Bowl left guard guard Carl Nicks has been placed on injured reserve. He had been fighting a toe injury since week one. Tampa Bay was already without Pro Bowl right guard Davin Joseph after they lost him for the year during preseason. The Bucs offensive line has played well as a unit to this point of the season. They have...
